Let's tie the knot, again!

Looking back on this wedding now, feels especially sentimental.
It hardly seems possible that the sweet baby girl who was carried down the aisle that day has already celebrated her first birthday. Time has a way of moving far too quickly, and moments like these remind me why photographs become more valuable with every passing year.
This January wedding in Port Orange, Florida, just outside of Daytona Beach, is one I’ll always remember. But what truly made this celebration meaningful was the history behind it.
The bride has been one of my biggest supporters since the beginning of my photography journey. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of documenting so many milestones for their growing family, from their engagement session to maternity photos as they prepared to welcome their beautiful daughter into the world.
So when she reached out about photographing their wedding celebration, it truly felt like coming full circle.
Except this wasn’t their actual wedding day.
By the time they walked down the aisle in front of their family and friends, they had already been married for an entire year.
They had chosen to elope privately, allowing themselves to experience the sacredness of their wedding day with just the two of them. Then, one year later, they gathered their loved ones to celebrate the marriage they had already built and the family they had begun creating together. I think there’s something incredibly beautiful about this!
Instead of this day being centered around becoming husband and wife, it became a celebration of everything they had already experienced together. Their vows had already been spoken. Their marriage had already begun. Their daughter had already changed their lives forever.
This wasn’t the beginning of their story. It was a joyful confirmation of it.
Watching family and friends witness the love that had quietly grown over the previous year made every moment feel deeply intentional. Every hug lingered a little longer, every toast carried even more meaning, and every smile reflected not just excitement for the future, but gratitude for everything that had already unfolded.
One of my favorite parts of this job is being invited back into people’s lives again and again.
It’s one thing to photograph a single milestone. It’s another to watch a love story unfold chapter by chapter. To photograph an engagement, then maternity, then a wedding celebration, and now to look back knowing their little girl has already turned one. It is one of the greatest privileges of my career.
Photography has introduced me to so much more than beautiful places and celebrations. It has given me lasting friendships and the opportunity to witness families grow right before my eyes.
This day wasn’t simply a wedding.
It was a celebration of marriage, family, and the quiet beauty of choosing to do things your own way. It was proof that there isn’t one timeline for love and that sometimes the most meaningful celebrations happen after the vows have already been exchanged.
To this sweet family, thank you for continuing to trust me with your biggest milestones. Watching your story unfold has been one of the greatest joys of my career, and I can’t wait to see what chapter comes next (and what I might get the honor to photograph next)!
