As a Gainesville wedding photographer, I have the privilege of capturing so many different love stories at all different styles of wedding venues. From the classic barn venues that surround the city, to the unique architecture venues like the Baughman Center, and now my new favorite, Sweetwater Branch Inn!
Sweetwater Branch Inn provides the perfect ‘stars hollow’ vibey backdrop for a romantic spring wedding. The venue’s historic charm, winding brick pathways, and flourishing gardens created an atmosphere that feels effortlessly elegant.
While Deena and Jake were complete strangers to me when they first reached out, it didn’t take long for the day to feel like I was photographing lifelong friends. Their kindness was evident in every interaction. Not only between the two of them, but throughout their entire family and wedding party. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth, making it incredibly easy to capture the joy that surrounded their day.
The details
The day started like most of my full wedding days do… Grabbing all of their invitation and flat lay details to capture. I brought along my mats, but decided that the front porch of one of the buildings was even more perfect than any styling mat I could have used. I set up about 5-6 different flat lays in 30-45 minutes, and then moved onto photographing Deena’s dress.
Every detail from the flat lays, to Deena’s dress, and the venue details embraced a refined garden party aesthetic. Soft florals, classic table scapes, and thoughtful design choices transformed Sweetwater Branch Inn into an intimate celebration that felt both luxurious and inviting. It was one of those weddings where every corner deserved to be photographed.
The anticipation + ceremony
The emotions began long before the ceremony.
One of my favorite moments from the morning was the bridesmaids’ first look with Deena. The room immediately filled with happy tears as they saw her for the first time, setting the tone for the rest of the day.
When it came time to walk down the aisle, Deena was accompanied by her mom and brothers (ahhh, such a meaningful moment that reflected the deep love and support surrounding her)! There wasn’t a dry eye in sight. Throughout the ceremony, tears flowed freely, but so did laughter, creating the perfect balance of emotion and celebration.
My favorite moment during their ceremony was when their vows read “for richer and richer.” This slight change of verbiage truly manifests a life built together in ways beyond wealth and finances. Rich in life, because they have one another!
The bride + groom
There truly are couples who are at their wedding to have the best day of their lives, and Deena and Jake were exactly this.
Of course, they shared the quiet, in-between moments just as beautifully as the big ones. But, the majority of the day was maximum hype all around from them both!
The gardens and historic buildings at Sweetwater Branch Inn gave us endless beautiful pockets of light for portraits. I truly could have photographed them forever and ever. We were surrounded by colorful spring blooms and historic Southern charm at every corner.
As the sun began to set, guests gathered for an elegant plated dinner before celebrating the newlyweds well into the evening.
The reception carried the same refined atmosphere as the rest of the day, filled with heartfelt toasts, joyful conversations, and a dance floor that stayed full. Every part of the celebration reflected the same thing I had noticed from the beginning: this wasn’t just a beautiful wedding—it was a gathering of people who genuinely love and support Deena and Jake.
It was an honor to document such an emotional, joy-filled day at one of Gainesville’s most beautiful wedding venues.

The party
